FAQ's About Safety & Attire
All new visitors to WEDGE will receive a short Health and Safety Induction before starting any classes, workshops or memberships.
We provide aprons for all of our classes and workshops but that being said, pottery can be crazy, so wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting messy!
Long hair should be tied back, you don't want that getting wrapped around a wet spinning wheel! If you're thinking of getting a manicure maybe leave it until after your throwing session...Long nails won't stop you but they might interfere with wheel throwing.
Close-toed shoes are mandatory for health and safety reasons throughout the workshops but if you want to feel the wind between your toes, crocs are fine.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start time are non-refundable.
Do I need Previous Experience?
Not at all! Our classes are designed for all skills levels. Whether you're signing up for a class or joining us as a member, you'll be given a short induction about the space and its facilities, equipment and tools as well as any other safety information that you might need to know.
Do i NEED MY OWN TOOLS?
Nope! Our workshops are fully equippted with all the tools you might need, that being said, if you have your own that you'd like to bring then be our guest! If you sign up for a MAKER Membership you'll even get your own locker where you can keep any tools or special bits and pieces that you like to use inbetween visits.
Shelf Life & Picking Up Work
Pieces are typically ready for pickup 3–4 weeks after your class. Due to limited space, we can only hold work for 60 days after the firing date. If you can't pick up your work right away that's fine, just let us know.
Studio Conduct
We are a community space built on respect. We want everyone to feel welcome at WEDGE and that only works if everyone chips in. Please clean your workspace, wheel and tools after use and be mindful of your neighbors' creative space. If you're not sure about something, just ask!
WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?
There are only two of us running the show at WEDGE so if you have any questions that aren't answered here, just drop us an email and either Abbie or James will get back to you.
